Personal and professional development
Nobody changes by knowing more. People change by practising for longer than they feel like.
There is a difference between learning and changing, and most people stop at the first because it is the more pleasant one. Reading about the pattern is immediately satisfying; interrupting it at three in the afternoon on a difficult Tuesday is not.
The development I mean is deliberately slow. It works one thing at a time, gives the change long enough to become boring, which is the sign that it has settled, and only then moves on.
It applies equally to private life and to work, because the person who walks into the meeting is the same one who walks in the front door.

- Choose one thing
One. Whoever chooses five has chosen none.
- Shorten the loop
Practise in small situations before the big ones.
- Have someone who notices
Someone allowed to tell you when you slipped back.
- Measure in months
Not in sessions, and not in books read.
Want to turn understanding into practice?
Theory only becomes transformation when it is lived day to day, with support and method.
