Forgiveness
Forgiveness is not a favour to whoever hurt you. It is refusing to pay the bill twice.
Almost everyone learned a version of forgiveness that doesn't work: excusing, forgetting, pretending. That is why so many people conclude they are incapable of forgiving, in truth they are refusing, quite rightly, to lie.
There is another way to hold it. What hurt did happen. What can be put down is the obligation to relive it. You don't forgive the other person; you release what the episode still demands of you every day.
It is the hardest work and the one that improves daily life fastest, because resentment is expensive, and it charges quietly, every day, without ever sending an invoice.

- Separate the fact from the story about it
The fact happened once. The story has been repeating for years.
- Notice what you gain by not forgiving
There is always something. Being right, identity, protection.
- Practise on small things
Nobody starts with the deepest wound.
- Check it in the body
Real forgiveness shows in how you sleep, not in how you talk.
Is there a story you are still paying for every day?
Understanding what happened isn't always enough to stop carrying it. If you feel you are still bound to a situation or a relationship, we can look together at what is still asking to be seen.
